Alberto has experience in infrastructure projects, planning and public policy in trade related areas and has been a key decision maker in customs infrastructure, equipment and innovative inspection projects in the United States- Mexico region for the past six years. He is currently assessing several Mexican airports on how to become logistic hubs for international cargo.
Alberto has held relevant positions in the Mexican Government; among them, he worked as the Assistant Commissioner for Infrastructure and Equipment for the MexicanCustoms, where he oversaw more than 100 employees and managed a portfolio of over 96 projects worth 68 billion pesos during the past Mexican FederalAdministration (2013-2018). He was also led the Project Management Office, where he established new guidelines and systems to correctly execute high risk and challenging projects. He managed to modernize the 7 busiest customs facilities in the northern border and the 3 most important customs facilities in seaports in Mexico. He was part of the team that designed the Unified CargoProcessing program with CBP and designed the new airport passenger clearance process.
Prior to that, from 2008 to 2012 he worked for the Mexican Port Authority of theMinistry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), overseeing the budget of16 Federal Ports and leading key infrastructure projects worth 36 billion pesos for the Mexican port system which included new cargo terminals in Mexico ́s main ports: Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Altamira and Veracruz.
Alberto also worked for Inbursa Bank, as an analyst for the foreign exchange market calculating the Value at Risk (VaR) for daily bank operation margins and forCovenant House (Mexico City), a charitable organization that takes care of homeless teenagers, developing projects to obtain funds.
